What is gold vermeil?
Gold vermeil is a French term (pronounced ‘ver-may’) and is also known as silver-gilt. Vermeil is a thick gold plating (of at least 2.5 microns) on top of a sterling silver base. It enables us to create premium-quality, hypoallergenic, gold jewellery without the expense of solid gold. Cared for and stored correctly it should be endure frequent wear for years to come.
What is the difference between gold vermeil and gold plated?
Gold vermeil has a much higher amount of gold as well as a thicker layer than gold plated jewellery. Gold plated jewellery also often tends to have a more affordable base metal like aluminium or brass (although our gold plated jewellery has a 925 silver base). Due to its thicker coating, Gold vermeil is much more durable and resilient for daily wear.
How should I clean my jewellery?
We recommend using a gentle polishing cloth, ensuring it is clean and dry. Simply rub your piece gently in one direction, wiping away any dirt.
Can I add a gift message?
